Endorsed Midwife – Maternity Leave Cover (Casual Temporary Position)

WomankindHealth is seeking a warm, experienced and passionate Endorsed Midwife to join uiour team for maternity leave cover commencing August 2026.

Based in our private obstetric and gynaecology practice in Rose Park, this position offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of specialist obstetricians, endorsed midwives and administration staff dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence-based and woman-centred care.

About the Role

This is a casual temporary position with regular rostered days on Fridays and alternate Thursdays, equivalent to approximately three days per fortnight, with flexibility and scope for additional sessions as required. The successful applicant will provide continuity of maternity care within a specialist-led private practice environment, supporting women throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period while working collaboratively with our obstetric team.

Essential Criteria‍ ‍

  • Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA.

  • Current Endorsement as a Midwife. Demonstrated experience in: Antenatal care Childbirth preparation and labour and birth education Postnatal care

  • Current prescribing qualification and confidence prescribing within endorsed midwifery scope.

  • Confidence practicing independently within the endorsed midwife scope of practice.

  • Commitment to collaborative care alongside specialist obstetricians and other healthcare professionals.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organisational and clinical decision-making abilities.

  • Current professional indemnity insurance appropriate for endorsed midwifery practice.

  • Current Working With Children Check and National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).

Desirable Criteria‍ ‍

  • Lactation support experience and/or additional breastfeeding education or qualifications.

  • Experience working within private maternity care.

  • Experience providing continuity of care models.

  • Experience working within collaborative specialist-led maternity care settings.

  • Experience using Gentu clinical software.
